Surgery

Surgery

I just had surgery on my right foot.  I had an 2 toes amputated.  It has kept me from doing just normal things not to mention traveling.  I should be all right by the end of the year.  We have a cruise lined up in April.  Let's see if all go's right with recuperation.

Our European trip, 2017

In 2017 we took a trip to Europe. We went with mi wife's brother and his family.   We mainly hung around The Netherlands, Holland.  We like staying in Bungalows.  In Holland they are everywhere.  They are very economical. They usually have 1-2-3 bedrooms, with bathrooms & kitchen  We liked going to town and buying groceries and eating there.  We would go out usually at lunch with dinner occasionally.
We went to museums a lot.  The mauritshuis, a museum in Den Hague.  It had a lot of great paintings from the Dutch Masters.  It was 14,00 EUR at the time that we went.  If you like art, you will love this.

We went to Amsterdam.  I use to not like it there, but the last couple of times that I went to Holland I really enjoyed it.  Ann Franks house is there.  The canal rides are fun. The food is really good.  There are a lot of goings on, going on.  It is rich in history.  If you love antiques, it's a great place for you!
 The Ikea bridge

 Amsterdam
We love going to Delft.  If you ever see the pottery from Holland, Delft Blue, this is where most of it comes from.  It's a nice place to visit.  Also, the Old & New Church are there.  The Royalty is buried in the New Church.

Of course there is the touristy place that we stayed in.  We stayed in Volendom!  It use to be a fishing village.

We loved going to Geithorn.. You rent boats that you drive yourself.  The town was dependent on that way of life years ago.

We went to the war museum in Overloon:  This is where they had a major battle in WWII.  They have a great collection of restored equipment there.

Our trip to Michigan

We have a daughter who lived in Michigan with her family.  We were able to visit them.  We enjoyed it very much.  We went to visit Detroit.  It's a city that is trying very hard to get back to being a great city that it once was.  We visited some important peoples graves that represent the city, Rosa Parks, Henry Ford, the Dodge brothers.  The place that I liked the most was The Henry Ford Museum.  It was great.  here is what's there:
 President Kennedy Assassination car.
 President FDR car.

The chair that President Lincoln was sitting in when assassinated.
Rosa Parks bus
Disney World 2015

In 2015 my wife & I took our 1st trip to Disney World.  We have found that they are the same, BUT! they are different!  At Disneyland as you approach the park you can see it.  At Disney World you have to take a Ferry, or the Monorail to the parks.  The parks are connected by those 2 things. It is a process that takes some time. It time consuming to walk to the docks, take the ferry and then as you get about half way thru, then you see the main park.  So, already we see the difference.
Now, don't expect to think that you know your way around.  Some of the rides are the same, there are also ones that are different.  Even the same are somewhat different.  I mean different as like the Haunted Mansion on the outside is different, along with Pirates of the Caribbean.  I like the fact that even the same is different.  I like that they have a little difference there.
I liked the mountain better in World than Land.  I have a short video of the difference.  I like it better.  The Matterhorn isn't really a ride that I like.  The parades are great at both parks.  We love watching the parades. it's fun
Disney world is so big!  We couldn't believe how big the park is.  We went to Disneyland so many times as a family, and as kids that it was mind blowing the difference!  I was told once that it was difficult with young children at World.  I couldn't grasp that until we went a 3rd time but with a daughter, husband & their 2 young kids.  Now I understand!  It was a little harder, but it can be done.
I suggest to take each individual park one at a time.  One day is this park, the next day another park, and so on.  Some parks you might have some time at the end of the day, then you can decide where to go.  We went to the Magic Kingdom 1st day, so when we had time after the other parks, we went back to the Magic Kingdom to finish it.  Sometimes you will have time for the parades and other shows.
You do need 3-4 days for World.  I would say 4.  here are some photos and videos of the vacations there.

It's hard to write about something months to years later.  I just figured out how to get back in.  Thanks for watching.
